Un importante número de Jóvenes Demócrata Cristianos y antiguos falangistas conmemoró este fin de semana el Cincuenta Aniversario de la colectividad política que en 1947 fundara Eduardo Frei Montalva, junto a Radomiro Tomic y Bernardo Leighton, entre otros destacados políticos chilenos.
Las actividades en Quilpue se iniciaron el día sábado con una Misa de Acción de Gracias en la Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Rosario, donde el párroco Jaime Da Fonseca destacó el rol que ha jugado la colectividad política en la defensa de la clase media y de los más desposeídos a través de un proyecto político que llegaría a la Presidencia de la República por primera vez en 1964.

Tras la ceremonia religiosa, los jóvenes Demócrata Cristianos se trasladaron hasta el Monumento de madera al Fundador de Quilpué, Rodrigo de Araya, ubicado a un costado de calle Condell, donde los falangistas rindieron un tributo a la ciudad como testimonio del compromiso del Partido Demócrata Cristiano por la ciudad.Las actividades continuaron ayer domingo con una visita que los jóvenes Demócrata Cristianos quilpueínos hicieron al Hospital de la comuna, donde entregaron una tarjeta de recuerdo por los 50 años de la DC que además alentaba a los enfermos a una pronta y efectiva recuperación. Junto con esto, la Directiva y los jóvenes de la JDC llegaron al Hogar de Ancianos Ana Rosina de Belloto Norte, donde entregaron un reconocimiento a los antiguos militantes Falangistas Berta Rodríguez y Mario Maturana.
Destacó entre las actividades una simbólica caminata que los Jóvenes DC realizaron por el centro de la ciudad hasta llegar a la antigua Cruz de Valencia, ubicada en lo alto de una colina del Fundo el Carmen, donde los noveles políticos hicieron votos y compromisos por recuperar la presencia política y social en la ciudad a través del permanente trabajo con la comunidad.
En cuanto al significado de las actividades realizadas, el Presidente de la JDC Quilpueína, Cristian Cárdenas señaló que “con este tipo de actividades austeras buscamos precisamente mostrar cual es el verdadero sentido de la DC en cuanto a que nuestro partido se cimenta en una doctrina que se inspira en el concepto cristiano de la persona humana y por ello la sociedad que anhelan construir, es de carácter democrático, personalista, comunitaria, solidaria, pluralista y abierta al mundo, por ello en estos días tan especiales para nosotros estuvimos con quienes dan vida a nuestra organización”, señaló.
